His cuisine is a perfect balance between tradition and innovation: starting with classic Italian recipes, Matteo adds creative and contemporary touches that enhance the original flavours without ever distorting them. Raised with a love for Italian cuisine and trained in top restaurants, Matteo takes care of every detail, from the choice of ingredients, strictly seasonal and quality, to the refined presentation of each dish. With a selection of fine meats and recipes that respect Italian gastronomic culture, Matteo guides the customer through an experience that touches the senses and remains etched in the memory.
A tribute to the past
The name Osteria la Vecchia Lira is a tribute to the authentic soul of Italy. The restaurant was born at the very moment of the changeover from the lira to the euro.
The founders, Eugenio Lavelli and Marco Medici, wanted to create a place that would preserve the memory of the taverns of yesteryear, where every meal was a ritual of sharing and tradition.
The atmosphere you will find here recalls those places of the past, with an extra touch of elegance: from the warm and welcoming ambience to the passionately prepared dishes, the osteria aims to be a refuge from the frenetic pace of the metropolis, a space that reconnects you to the roots of Italian culture.
